Galápagos Short-eared Owl ~ Asio galapagoensis

Introduction

The Galápagos Short-eared Owl is a medium-sized owl with small, often concealed ear-tufts. This species is not currently recognised by the International Ornithological Congress, who consider it a sub-species of the Short-eared Owl Asio flammeus.

Information

Distribution: Endemic to the Galápagos Archipelago, about 1000km east of Ecuador.
