Introduction

The Usambara Eagle Owl is a medium-sized to large owl with short tousled ear-tufts. It is also known as the Nduk Eagle Owl.

Information

Distribution: Endemic to the Usambara and Uluguru Mountains in Tanzania.

Status: Previously listed as Vulnerable by BirdLife International, although they now treat this bird as a subspecies of Fraser's Eagle Owl Bubo poensis, which is listed as 'Least Concern'.
