Introduction

The New Ireland Boobook is a small to medium-sized owls with no ear-tufts. It is also known as the New Ireland Hawk Owl, Bismarck Boobook, or Bismarck Hawk Owl.

Information

Distribution: Endemic to New Hanover and New Ireland in the Bismarck Archipelago, east of New Guinea.

Status: Widespread and common within its range. Listed as 'Least Concern' by Birdlife International.
