Greater Sooty Owl - Tyto tenebricosa arfaki

Description: Generally browner than nominate race, with tarsi mottled darker and lighter greyish-brown. The white spots on this subspecies are generally larger than in the nominate.

Size: Wing: 285-343 mm; Tail: 116-132 mm

Distribution: New Guinea and adjacent Jobi Island.
