Short-eared Owls
In October 2001, Paul Jackson observed five Short-eared Owls on an offshore platform on Sakhalin Island, Russia.

In September 2002, another Short-eared Owl turned up on the same offshore platform. It fed on small birds that were plentiful on the platform.
