Maned Owl ~ Jubula lettii

Introduction

The Maned Owl is a medium-sized owl with long, bushy ear-tufts. These, together with the elongated feathers on the sides of the head and nape, give the bird a maned appearance.

Distribution: Patchy distribution from Liberia east to Ghana and mainly from south Cameroon to River Congo and north central, south central and east central Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Status: Uncertain.
