Introduction

The Red-chested Owlet is a very small owl with a rounded head and no ear-tufts. It is also known as the Red-chested Pygmy Owl.

Information

Distribution: Western Africa From Sierra Leone to Ghana. Central Africa from Cameroon south to Gabon and east to Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There are also isolated populations in western Kenya.

Status: Listed as 'Least Concern' by Birdlife International.
