Alone in the woods with this local screech owl, a unique opportunity presented itself. Scouting the area earlier in the day, I identified a probable first perch when the owl left its cavity. I set up with the best angle I could find, and was thrilled to be correct in my prediction. These birds are challenging to photograph out of their cavity, as they typically only travel by cover of darkness. Framed pieces require more time. More >
