Wetar Scops Owl ~ Otus tempestatis

Introduction

The Wetar Scops Owl is a very small owl with relatively short, rounded ear-tufts. This species is not currently recognised by the International Ornithological Congress, who consider it a sub-species of the Moluccan Scops Owl Otus magicus.

Distribution: Endemic to Wetar Island in the Lesser Sundas.
