The Great Horned Owl family was incredible to work with. The nest in the photos I spotted when I was shopping in the garden department at a home improvement store in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. I walked to the managers office and stated "this might be the wierdest conversation you'll be a part of today". I went on to explain the nest and my background, she was informed me that the owls retun every year. She allowed me to stay one hour after the store closed three nights before I flew back to South America. I would had loved to stay through developement and eventual fledging. I climbed the scaffolds and set up above the lawn ornaments, and shot these photos. The nest is made of an old box of fake turf donated generously by the store.
